HOLY MYSTERIES OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION (Baptism, Chrismation and Eucharist) Expectant parents are asked to contact the priest to set an appointment for Baptism catechesis. Two meetings are required: the first during the pregnancy, the second after the birth of the child. Please do not set any date for Baptism before speaking with the priest.

HOLY MYSTERY OF CROWNING Couples planning marriage should contact the priest to schedule the prior Betrothal Service (Blessing of the Rings) and before setting any date for the wedding ceremony.

HOLY MYSTERY OF ANOINTING It is the family's responsibility to contact the priest when someone is ill, preparing for surgery and/or is homebound.

FUNERAL OF THE DEAD Please contact the parish priest upon the death of a loved one and before any date or time is set for the wake and funeral.

HOLY MYSTERY OF CONFESSION The priest is available for Confession before liturgical celebrations or by appointment.

From Downtown Akron

Located near the heart of the city, St. Joseph is about one (1) mile from the intersection of Main & Exchange Streets - the location of Canal Park, home of the Cleveland Indians' Aeros AA baseball team.

From Cleveland I-77

Exit I-77 at Ghent Rd. and take Ghent Rd. (right) to W.Market St. in Fairlawn, OH. Turn left on Market St. and drive about two and three quarters (2 3/4)) miles to the Wallhaven area in west Akron(get into right hand lane). Turn right onto S. Hawkins then an immediate left onto W. Exchange Street. A McDonald's will be on the right hand corner as you turn left. Stay on West Exchange St. for about 2.2miles. The church will be on your right just before the intersection of Exchange and Rhodes Ave. Turn right into the drive and continue on to the parking lots.

From Canton I-77

As you approach the central interchange (I-76/I-77 andOhio Rt. 8) stay on I-77 and exit at the Main Street/Downtown exit which is about 1/4 mile west of the interchange. When exiting, stay to the right and take the Downtown then Broadway St. ramp. Continue north to E. Exchange St. (about one mile). Turn left on E. Exchange St. (at the Akron Beacon Journal) and continue west across Main St. passing Canal Park, which will be on your right. The church will be on your left about one mile from the intersection of Exchange and Main Streets. The entrance drive is just past the intersection of W. Exchange and Rhodes Ave.

From Youngstown I-76

As you pass through the central interchange (I-76/I-77and Ohio Rt. 8) continue west on I-76 and exit at the Main Street/Downtown exit which is about 3/4 mile west of the interchange.
