["Farewell America", p. 299]; 2) Presidential aides Ken O'Donnell and Dave Powers, who rode in the Secret Service follow-up car with Roberts, said in their book: "Roberts, one of President Kennedy's agents...had decided to switch to Johnson as soon as Kennedy was shot." [ "Johnny, We Hardly Knew Ye", p. 32]; 3) DPD Chief Jesse Curry, in the lead car in front of Roberts (and JFK), also noted Roberts' switch in allegiance ["JFK Assasination File", pp. 36-37]; 4) Jerry ter Horst, a reporter in the motorcade (on one of the Press Busses) on 11/22/63, ALSO noted Roberts' switch in allegiance ["The Flying White House", p. 215]; 5) As you noted, William Manchester---who, by the way, INTERVIEWED ROBERTS AND KELLERMAN!---noted this "switch in allegiance" to LBJ on the way to Parkland Hospital ["The Death of a President", 1988 Edition, p. 165] [NOTE: #1-5 are referenced in Vince Palamara's book "The Third Alternative---Survivor's Guilt: The Secret Service and the JFK Murder", pp. 32-33; see also pp. 4-8 (unnumbered) of Chapter XI: "Conflicts in the Record"] Please also see, in entirety, Vince Palamara's article entitled "The Strange Actions (and Inaction) of Agent Emory Roberts", October 1996 "JFK Deep Politics Quarterly" journal: one example: quoting from Manchester's book (again, the 1988 edition [your edition might be slightly off, page wise, p. 170])--- before entering Parkland:"To Kellerman, his superior, he said tersely, 'You stay with Kennedy. I'm going to Johnson." Again, Manchester interviewed Roberts [twice, on 12/4/64 and on 4/26/65, the ONLY person to ever interview him---Roberts died in the late 1960's] and Kellerman [11/17/64 and 5/12/65] ALSO from Palamara's book: p. 15---fellow agent Abraham Bolden was shocked at Roberts' conduct on 11/22/63 (Roberts is one of three agents that Palamara holds much suspicion about: the others are Bill greer and Floyd Boring) MOST OF ALL: taking AFTER-THE-FACT, CYA, Secret Service-generated documents at FACE VALUE, without weighing and considering ALL the elements, will ALWAYS give you the "official" story, just as believing ANY document or documents after-the-fact, generated because or FOR an official investigation will, obviously, more than likely tow the "official" party line [in this case, the wrong idea: that Roberts was doing o.k. on 11/22/63!]. I mean, let's all read the 888-page Warren Report and go home: these are "official", after-the-fact docs/ reports that state the obvious.
