Posner vs. the Photographs: Others
1. Howard Brennan
POSNER (p. 247):
"...Howard Brennan...was leaning against a four-foot-high retaining
wall..."
As the Zapruder film, and the reconstruction photo (on p. 12 of
Posner's own photo section) show, Brennan was sitting atop the retaining
wall.
Brennan in Zapruder frame 161.
2. "This unpublished photo..."
POSNER (photo section p. 7):
Posner notes that the "unpublished photo" is "Courtesy of Johann
Rush." Perhaps Rush failed to tell him the photo had previously been
published in Rush's own assassination newsletter. It is a frame from a
film which has appeared in a number of films, including the 1972 "The Two
Kennedys," released on videotape as one of the earliest videotapes on the
JFK assassination in the mid-1980s (MPI VIdeo). It has since appeared on
other videotapes, all prior to the publication of Posner's book.
3. Ferrie and Oswald
POSNER (p. 143):
"[David] Ferrie...was not even in the Civil Air Patrol when Oswald was
a member in 1955."
"FRONTLINE: WHO WAS LEE HARVEY OSWALD?" (Nov. 16, 1993, PBS):
A photo displayed on the program by two former members of the CAP
shows Ferrie and Oswald together at a CAP barbecue. According to
"Frontline" reporter Gus Russo (at the 1993 ASK conference in Dallas),
the show's producer decided to use only one of two such photographs they
had.
4. "No such person..."
POSNER (p. 431):
"[Dean] Andrews further embellished his story. He now remembered the
name of Oswald's Mexican associate--Manuel Garcia Gonzales. There was no
such person. Later,...Andrews admitted it was a hoax."
A photograph of Manuel Garcia Gonzales appears
on p. 164 of Cover-up by Gary Shaw and Larry Harris.
