From: Michael Ravnitzky Newsgroups: alt.conspiracy.jfk Subject: Postal Service withholds JFK Assassination Records Date: Thu, 19 Dec 1996 23:46:34 -0600 ======================================================================= One office in the US Postal Service has some JFK Assassination related records that no one has mentioned. USPS has not turned them over to the Assassination Records Review Board, and USPS refuses to release these records to any requester under FOIA. Would some of you please ask for these records; perhaps you'll have more luck? At least you'll get a first hand view of bureaucracy in action. Below is a suggested form letter which describes the records. Michael Ravnitzky MikeRav@ix.netcom.com --------------------- To: James C. Tolbert, Jr. Manager Stamp Development, Stamp Services United States Postal Service 475 L'Enfant Plaza SW Washington, DC 20260-2435 USA Dear Mr. Tolbert: Pursuant to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act and the provisions of the JFK Assassination Records Act, I hereby request a copy of the following records: 1) The meeting minutes of the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee for any meetings held between November 21, 1963 and November 30, 1964, inclusive. If you chose toinvoke Exemption b(5) of the FOIA, please note that these records are more than 32 years old. Thus, they are not properly protected under that Exemption. I agree to pay reasonable costs associated with this request. Please notify me if costs are expected to exceed $20. I am an individual, noncommercial requester, and thus should be placed into the fee category "all other requesters". Sincerely,
