From: "J. Stevens" Subject: ARRB IMPERATIVE! Date: Tue, 18 Mar 1997 17:33:17 +0000 Researcher Joe Backes, author Peter Dale Scott as well as JFK LANCER have sent out group mails recently to this effect: It is incumbent upon all of us to REALLY, REALLY make an effort to contact our congressional representatives (easy -- go to http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/ )to affirm our resolve to keep the Review Board going. It's all over this coming October if we don't see to it that it continues its mandate. Lobbying efforts are apparently being made now, but if each of us does not take it upon ourselves to let the people in power KNOW that we CARE about the work that still needs to be done, who WILL DO IT? The new ARRB fiscal report (available from them upon request) says: "Tens of thousands of other assassination records await review, however, and the process of identifying new records continues." (p. 9) As the aforementioned researchers advised, you should contact the following key persons: The Honorable Fred Thompson Senate Committee on Government Affairs 340 Dirkson Office Building Washington DC 20519 and The Honorable Dan Burton House Government Reform and Oversight Committee 2157 Rayburn Office Building Washington DC 20515 The research community is in disarray, what with feuding, distrust and fierce disagreements on dogma and theory. This is ONE WAY we can band together and write to the powers-that-be to show that the JFK case still matters, and that we want our history back intact. It may be out last chance to have ALL the remaining crucial documents released. If we blow it, we have only ourselves to blame. When October comes and there **is no** ARRB, we'll not have the right to complain and write Congress at THAT point. The time is now. Again, if NOT us then who? Jan Stevens JFK/Deep Politics Quarterly
