[[ posted by Tony Marsh online Oct.'96 ]] ======================================================================= [[ concerning the fact that Tom Samulok is gone from the ARRB ]] Correct. Eileen Sullivan will now be the contact person. ARRB did vote to renew itself and will retire October 1, 1997. We are trying to push to have the presumption that any documents not reviewed by then are assumed to be released when the board folds. -------------------------------------------- [[ About COPA 96 ]] I was VERY disappointed by most of COPA conference. Personally, I enjoyed meeting a few people there and made more progress on some new projects. But the whole focus of the group is diffusing. The keynote speech had nothing to do with the main assassination. Several speakers cancelled or just did not show up. Sessions started late and ran late. Some panels were simply rehashes of what they said last year. The panel about the Paines was largely irrelevant to the assassination. One tidbit is the release of the photos from the Minox camera. Some of them seem to show guerrila encampments. I am wondering if Oswald or Paine was spying on the Cuban Exile training camps. I would like to see some identify the locales in those photos. The hidden messages in the media panel was fantasy land, not research. Some speakers were uninvited. Ken Rahn's presentation seems to strongly suggest that the NAA data is useable and indicates only two bullets, including CE 399. I doubt that I will attend next year unless I have some important paper to deliver myself. Anthony Marsh ------------------------- end ---------------------------------------
