Thanks for visiting this Grace website
We hope you'll feel welcome to browse here . . . and we pray that Jesus Christ will touch you.
We are one of the original Christian churches in Uniontown, Ohio, but our focus is on God's Ways for the FUTURE of people like you . . . in our community and around the world.
We center worship on God, who we know best in Jesus Christ.
Worship is central, but only part of the Grace story. We share Sunday school
(classes for children & adults), choirs (2 choirs singing & 2 playing
handbells), mission activity (helping local families & many groups around
the world), youth fellowships, a women's fellowship group, a few
sports (currently basketball), and Bible
study. Each summer, we
host a week-long vacation church school. All are meant to make this an active
place to grow with Grace.
Jesus gathered a variety of followers, . . . and still does. In this northwest corner of Stark County we gather folk from Stark, Summit & Portage counties, people of diverse income levels and job styles.
Grace Church believes in working together with other churches. I
meet regularly
with clergy in the "Lake" area and with Akron area UCC
clergy. We work together with other area churches in Habitat for Humanity &
a CROP walk.
For
11 years or so, we've had periodic activities together with
the people of Antioch Baptist Church, a predominately African-American church in
Akron. (We are predominately European-American.)
I've been pastor here about 21 years. My wife Marlene and I are blessed with a stable marriage and three children -- Kathy (now out of college and living and working in Cleveland), Julie (college senior) and Randy (a high school senior). We in Grace are just beginning to hire other part-time staff -- Mrs. Michelle Hutcherson as our second administrative assistant.
We already have a pleasant sanctuary, a Christian education
building, and a brand new family activity center (gym/fellowship hall with high
ceiling and complete kitchen) -- on over 11 acres. Uniontown Pre-School, Boy Scout Troop #135, some girl
scout troops use our buildings,
and both boys & girls teams from the surrounding communities use our ball fields during Spring & Summer.
Christ's life, death & resurrection bring people together, leading us to live well. Many people find direction and support for good living here. In God's Grace we enjoy life . . . and we're better able to face problems and even death without any overdrawn fear.
Join us any Sunday morning for church school at 9:30 am and worship at 10:45 am.
(During the Summer time we move things ahead just a little. Watch our Worship Schedule for updates.)Come for other events (check the calendar). Feel free to come by in person through the week. Or give us a call (1-330-699-3255) or e-mail us at: GraceUtown@aol.com .
May God bless you in all you do.
