History:This was the 1st German speaking Roman Catholic Church in Akron. The church was established in 1861 and the cemetery in 1865. Prior to that the congregation belonged to St Vincent's Roman Catholic Church.
Published: in 1991 by the Summit County Chapter, OGS in the book: "Saint Bernard's
Catholic Church Akron, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions and Funeral Records 1863-1983." It is now out of print but can be viewed at The AKron-Summit County Library main branch.
