Summit County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical
Society was honored at the annual OGS meeting in Toledo for the chapter's
35 years of service1971-2006. President Gerald Huhn showed the certificate
at the chapter meeting Saturda
y,
May 20, 2006, at the Family History Center in Tallmadge.
The chapter will contribute $1,500 to theOGS library fund over a three-year period with $50 of this year's contribution to go for a Summit chapter brick for the Memorial Wall in the new library. Huhn also announced locations for the next three annual OGS conferences in Columbus in 2007, Cincinnati in 2008 and Cleveland in 2009.
Huhn also announced that the Late Night at the Library program will be Friday, October 13.
Five-Generations Chart chair James Mackey
presented a copy of the index he compiled for five-generation charts
collected by the chapter. The new index from 1994 to the present contains
2700 surnames. Each surname in the index is keyed to the submitter
of the chart with contact information. Copies of the chart and index
will be available from the chapter and on file at Akron-Summit County Public
Library.
