Akron Beacon Journal: This site has information on the Akron area and news from the Akron Beacon Journal.  You can check the News Library for older articles in the Beacon Journal and other newspapers. You can read an index free, but viewing the complete text of an article will cost between $1.00 and $2.95, depending on the  newspaper.  See the web site for details.

Akron-Summit Public Library:  This is a telnet link to the library and its card catalog.

Ohio Genealogical Society:   This is the official site of the Ohio  Genealogical Society. You must be a member to search databases.

Ohio Historical Society:  This website of the state historical society contains  vital statistics indexes, newspaper index, online collection catalog, Ohio history encyclopedia and other resources.

OhioLink:   A consortium of Ohio's college and university libraries and the State Library of Ohio.

OPLIN:   The Ohio Public Information Network is a cosortium of Ohio public libraries

Portage County Historical Society: This site also includes the Portage Genealogical Society

Revolutionary War Soldiers: List of Revolutionary War soldiers on DAR web site

RootsWeb:  From the main site there are links to Rootsweb message boards, lists of surname subscription lists, lists for various counties and different interest groups.

State Library of Ohio:  State Library of Ohio Genealogical Department provides research help.

Summit County GenWeb: This is the Summit County web site of Ohio GenWeb

Wayne County Veterans Burials:  A web site by Barney Kaufman of 6,995 veterans buried in Wayne County.
