Location: On a large farm found at the corner of Akron-Wadsworth Road (Rt. 261) and Barber Road
Contact: City of Norton
Status: Lost
History:The name of this cemetery has always been a source of intrigue. While nothing specific has ever been found to explain it, the general consensus is that the earliest burials here may have been of victims of an epidemic of "black plague" also known as diphtheria or black tongue fever. Always remote, the cemetery had long been neglected. In Ohio Cemeteries:1803-2003, published by the Ohio Genealogical Society, the remark is made that many gravestones were scattered when a water tower was erected nearby in the 1950's. In 1990, the three remaining stones found in the cemetery were removed to Norton Center Cemetery where they were reset and a memorial plaque installed.
